Many students struggle with word problems because they "number grab" without reading. With a combination of numberless word problems and modeling, you can help students slow down and analyze the action and information to determine the math they need to do. We will look at models and how they can be used to help students visualize the problem. Participants will also have time to analyze and model problems and ask questions about the strategy.
