About me
Shannon Floyd is a dedicated educator with an extensive background in instructional technology. Since 2005, Shannon has proudly served NNPS as an Instructional Technology Coach (ITC), bringing her expertise to both elementary and middle school levels.
Shannon's journey in education began as an elementary teacher at Newsome Park, where she formed deep connections with her students, guiding them through grades 2-5 in a looping format. Her commitment to student success led her to transition into the role of an ITC, where she could impact educators on a broader scale.
Before joining NNPS, Shannon honed her skills as a middle school ESL teacher for four years in another division, gaining valuable experience in diverse educational settings. Her dedication to excellence is evident through her National Board Certification in Middle Childhood Generalist and her ISTE certification.
Shannon's approach to coaching is rooted in fostering individualized growth in every educator she works with. She believes in the power of personalized learning and strives to empower teachers to reach their full potential. She is dedicated to equipping educators with the tools and support they need to thrive in today's digital age.
Among the array of educational technology tools Shannon shares, she particularly enjoys integrating MergeCube simulations and Beebots into the curriculum. These tools not only engage students but also enhance learning experiences, making education both interactive and meaningful. Her most recent interests center around AI and the potential to transform instructional planning for teachers through personalized learning and increasing student engagement.
